Hop For Haiti Swing Dance Benefit Raised over $6000 for Doctors without Borders

What started in California as a good idea, spread across the country and eventually as far away as Scotland and Singapore to become an international campaign organized by swing dancers to raise money for Haiti. When Linda Freeman, who runs Got2Lindy Dance Studios in the Hudson Valley with her husband, Chester, found out about the effort, she jumped on board immediately.

"It was a chance to do what we love to do, and enable the community here to give to an important cause," she explained.

The show--run by the husband and wife team of lindy hop dance instructors in the Hudson Valley--is dedicated to classic swing music and chat. The Lindy League is pleased to invite you to join us at our new 4th Saturday dance on April 24 in a new space, The Fix Studio in Northampton's center (30 Crafts Avenue, Northampton, MA. Parking adjacent and across street).

In celebration, we'll be opening the studio to all comers, free of charge, to check out the dance floor, eat a few snacks, try your luck at winning a door prize or two, and, of course, dance!

Local favorites, DJs C-Jam (Camille Fontanella) and Raggmopp (Mark Page) will swing the tunes for your listening and dancing pleasure.
