As you may or may not know, Vinnie's Jump & Jive, Middletown community dance staple venue, is going through a very rough period. Due to a variety of factors, attendance in the swing program has been very low. The coordination with both Wesleyan University (only 4 blocks west) and the greater Connecticut swing community has been lacking, and needs some rejuvenation and tender care. That's where you come in!

You've heard the rumors, you've seen the image, and you've heard the announcements but in case you missed it...CTLX is happening this weekend in New Haven, CT! 100 folks have already pre-registered for this great weekend because they heard that Gordon Webster and Tin Pan were our bands for Friday and Saturday night. They also heard that we were bringing in amazing DJs from all over to keep both late night rooms hopping! As if that wasn't enough, they heard that there was a cool vintage beach theme that culminates with a backyard BBQ.
2010 GRAMMY NOMINEE: DUKE ROBILLARD will be playing at Mystic River Park on Monday, July 26th. Shoreline Swing is proud to co-sponsor this event so that music keeps happening even when we are on hiatus. So grab a blanket, some lawn chairs, pack some dinner, definitely some water, and come on out and dance to some great music, at a great location right in downtown Mystic on the river! There will be a large contingent of regulars staking out a prime location next to the dance space.
Duke Robillard began playing with Roomful of Blues and has since then, he has formed his own ensemble....

Hi Vinnie's Dancers!
I wanted to inform everyone that we will not be having a dance Saturday July 3rd due to the holiday weekend.
Also, July will be the last month for regularly held Swing classes and dances at Vinnie's Jump and Jive. We are combining our efforts with Hartford Underground in East Hartford for a stronger, more unified Swing scene in CT.
Thank you everyone who has supported Vinnie's over the years, and we look forward to seeing you out dancing soon!
