More Lindy Hop! (Mar. 10, 17, 24, 31)

This series will explore and further develop dance movement, partnered connection, and dance continuity. By the end of this series, students will have an expanded repertoire of variations and be able to better communicate fundamental movements. Students must be able to successfully complete a swing out. No partner necessary.

Every first Saturday of the month here at Vinnie's Jump and Jive, we hold our large monthly swing dance. The night starts off with an intro to swing class and then we open up the floor for open dance. Expert dancers regularly come from New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and beyond for this central dance. Each month we have a different guest DJ.

Time: 7:30-8:30 Intro to Swing Lesson,

Vinnie's Solo Jazz and Charleston Workshops

3:30-4:30: Solo Jazz- Start on 8?? (Beg +)
Traditional Jazz moves strung together in a fresh new routine.

4:45-5:45: Mixed Blessing (Beg/Int+)
Mix of Jazz and Charleston, including a few variations on traditional Jazz moves. Charleston experience reccomended.

6:00-7:00: Charleston with a Cherry on Top (Int+)
Solo Charleston routine that will get your ticker working. Previous Charleston experience required.

2:00-3:00: The Dark Side
Take your LIndy Hop to the Dark Side and then expose it to the light. This class will show you how to look at what you already do in a different way and add spice to your dances.

3:15-4:15: Super Swingouts
So you've mastered the basic swingout, but how much have you tweaked it? Learn how to open it up to all kinds of variations for the leader and the follower; how to subtly adjust it to match different moods of the music, and how to adapt it to work with non-traditional Lindy Hop music altogether.
