We're very excited to sponsor this event at Studio One RI. Studio One is located in a beautifully renovated mill space in Lincoln featuring a very large hardwood dance floor, stellar sound system, and a killer new air conditioning system!

Minor Swing will be entertaining us with their gypsy swing sound (great for Balboa!) and Todd will be DJing at the breaks.

The Cangelosi Cards return to the German Club in RI for one last Swing/Lindy Hop dance of the year! Our favorite DJ, Wil Reed will be back during the breaks and Daryl and Jen will be teaching a beginner Lindy Hop lesson at 8:00. Whether you are a beginner to swing or a more experienced dancer, this lesson will be beneficial to all. The German Club features a huge beautiful hardwood dance floor, tables to sit and relax and a full stocked bar.

Leearn some favorite moves and patterns from 1920s–40s film clips and soundies, such as After Seben, Day at the Races, Buck Privates, The Powers Girl and Hellzapoppin’.

Solid understanding of Lindy Hop and Charleston required.

Learn many of the Balboa basics of this quick, close partnered dance that developed on the crowded dance floors in 1930s California.

Previous experience with basic frame and connection is helpful.

This class expands on the Charleston movements taught in Charleston A. New moves will be added to your repertoire with an emphasis on lead & follow and musicality.

So you've been dancing Lindy for a while now and feel comfortable with the basics and beyond. But do you really OWN those basics? We will focus on a different one each week (the tuck turn, the side pass, etc.) and tweak them to the point that they will bear little resemblance to their original form. Then you will be a Lindy Jedi Master.
